COSI - Center of Science and Industry

Our PSO sponsored a wonderful day of science and learning for our students today - COSI on Wheels, the traveling outreach program of COSI Columbus.  The day began with a 45-minute presentation to introduce the topic – Investigating Energy.  During the opening assembly, the children were introduced to renewable and non-renewable energy sources.  Later in the morning, our class returned to the gymnasium and had the opportunity to learn about energy conservation, test the power of wind, explore different energy sources, and learn about completing a circuit.  Student volunteers from our high school science program and parent volunteers from our Highland Drive community were on-hand to facilitate the explorations.
Our classroom had a few parents who helped out with the COSI on Wheels program.  Thank you so much, Mrs. Hague for assisting with one of the hands-on learning stations; and, thank you, Mrs. Ritter and Mrs. Vitt for volunteering to monitor lunch in the classroom!
