Groundhog Day 2015

We're working on informational text and narrative writings this week.  I plan to have the kiddos use this writing paper for one of the narrative writing activities.

In my classroom, students are featured on the author's chair to share weekend journal writings as well as other topics of choice.  The children also share their writings with partners many times throughout the week but author's chair is a favorite for most of the students.  In these pictures, you can see how the audience enthusiastically lends their undivided attention. 
After the author finishes reading, we make time for questions and feedback.  We're just beginning the process of providing comments and suggestions (a delicate process.)
